Girl's Day With Freddy

Today my roommate and I decided to have a girl's day, this of course meant I needed to find Baby Freddy, girl's day is great for taking pictures, and today was no disappointment. First things first we went to the salon, our favorite salon is Plush Beauty Salon on Fairfax and Santa Monica, one of my favorite things about the salon is the children's corner... A jailed in little area full of toys and little couches and stuff. The perfect place to take pictures of Baby Krueger.

After the salon we went to a new place, the perfect place for any woman in need of something pretty and practical. The Wizard of Bras in Monrovia. After getting there and signing in- yes, the way this store works is, you sign in, and wait, then one of the women calls your name, you follow her to a fitting room where she measures you and then you tell her what you want. They find what you're looking for, you try it on, they teach you the right way to put on a bra- who knew, all these years and I've been wearing my bra wrong. It was the perfect place to take a couple of pictures of Freddy, who in my belief, enjoyed his girl's day out.

P.S. After the salon we found the Best Russian bakery right next door where we were able to get lunch- a potato and mushroom turnover, a small brownie cheescake and a cup of coffee- for less then five dollars each. Seriously, my lunch was $4.50. And it was AWEOSME!

Catch Up With Freddy

Because I'm starting to post these pics about a month or two since I started taking pictures, I'm going to use this post to catch up to my most recent excursion with Baby Krueger. In these pics Baby Krueger was photographed in the box office of the New Beverly, eating cajun food at the Farmer's Market in Hollywood playing poker in Los Feliz, in a basket of hard boiled eggs on Easter, and at work with me... It was bring your slasher to work day.

Day Out With Freddy

I wasn't always a horror fan- in fact, I borderline hated horror films. My dad used to have this rule with me, either I could go to bed with my brother when he told us to- Or, since I was older, I could stay up and watch whatever he was watching. I remember being scared by films like Four Rooms and Jaws 2, I quickly learned not to stay in the living room with him while he watched TV, but then, of course- he would change the channel to something I would want to watch, and shout out what was happening. This went on for a few years, then finally I'd make myself watch the scary stuff. I don't remember how old I was, I guess around 13 when I decided I wasn't going to be scared anymore, I decided to watch all of the scary stuff- and not only watch it, but love it. Scary movies were going to be my favorite movies. I started going to the Fillmore Video store and renting things only from the horror section, and one day I stumbled upon a film titled 'Nightmare on Elm Street'. I loved it. I guess that's how it started.
A few months ago my roommate came home from Dark Delicacies with the cutest thing ever. A plush Freddy Krueger doll. I was instantly in love, and started taking him everywhere. Anywhere I went, I took a picture. Pretty soon I was sending pictures to my friends, to my twitter and facebook and anywhere else I could think of. Finally my mom compared me to Amelie and the gnome she has pictures taken of and sent to her father. That gave me the idea to start posting the pictures I had taken of Baby Krueger- as he's known as- on a blog. Thus, Day Out With Freddy was born.
